To become a certified Level 1 Iyengar Yoga teacher….

• One has to have attended regular Iyengar Yoga classes with a qualified teacher for at least 3 years before entering the training
• Ideally, one has to have studied at the source in Pune, India
• It takes another 3 years of teacher training before one is examined to become a teacher
• Teacher training includes multiple written
   assignments
• Assessment includes one’s teaching skills as well as one’s presentation of asana
• Basic pranayama knowledge and teaching is a requirement
• Anatomy and philosophy papers are included
• Once one is certified, the Natarajasan logo is a mark of authenticity, this is just the Beginning
• The teacher needs to sustain a strong self practice
